When we opened on Sundays back in 2010,  it was a intended as a extra few hours on a Sunday for our regulars to get a quick cut in before the start of the work week. Back then it was just one barber working on his own and doing a handful of haircuts. Fast forward to 2016 and now our Sundays are staffed with Five barbers and are faced with a line out the door all day. One barber can only cut hair so fast and still give a quality cut / expericnece. Five barbers can only cut hair so fast and still give a quality cut / experience. Due to demand and lack of available barbers we will be going to $35 haircuts on Sundays starting 3/1/16. Shaves (both head & face) will be the standard shop rate of $40. Hours will remain the same of 10am – 2pm with the last customer being sat and door locked 1/2 hour before close without exception. Thanks for the last 40+ years of business in Logan Square and heres to another 40 more.

MAJOR-LEAGUE-BARBER-MIDWEST-SUPER-2

On Sunday, January 10th 2016 we here at Joe’s Barbershop set out to do something little different and out of our norm and enter the 2016 MLB barber battle at the Midway Airport Marriott. Besides being a super loud / long day, a random fight breaking out here and their over who can do a better “fade”, and the usual sub par hotel food and overpriced drinks we ended up walking away with a trophy ! Shop barber Will Valentine took home 3rd place for his traditional haircut on fellow shop barber Tim Robinson. Shop barber Taylor also competed using barber Bo Rada as a model but the judges said his super tight slick back wasn’t “traditional” enough ? Maybe it was the lack of bright blue coloring or that the pomade used didn’t have glitter in it ? The trophy is now among the shop booze bottles for all to admire. It was a experience to say the least.
